I wanted to know the best way to get down to 135-145Ibs for a 5ft 10in person. I am starting to do weights in the morning for 1hour with about 10 minutes of cardio and some additional stretching then during my class cardio and toning then afterschool about 2hours jogging. Is this good? I eat salmon, rice, vegetables, 2 glasses v-8, 1 centrum pill, vitamin E and C for breakfast and dinner I drink slimfast. I would like some help and any changes I need to make.

First off i would het off the slim fast and get a good quality mrp. (meal replacement) One with higher protien carbs fats etc.Including vitamins & minerals. Depending on how much you want to lose depends on your calories. Your in the right direction to reach your goals. I would check out the nutrition section of this site. Try and work your cardio up to about 30-45 min a day or just do the jog. Depending on your age will give you your min and max heartrate.
Good luck and welcome to the site.

is it possible to be 135-145Ibs by next summer? I have already lost 10Ibs. I weigh now about 200Ibs. Unlike most averagely large people my weight I do not look it. I do not want to be too bulky but slender and toned. How do I tone my abs and legs? I heard you are supposed to tone after you lose the weight. Is 1hour of jogging and 1hour of walking unreasonable? I want to lose weight fast but then again I want to be toned and healthy.

If you add some resistance training to your workout regimine, it will greatly speed up your fat loss. For one, with weights, you can actually change the shape of your body, and second, the muscle you build will in turn burn more of the fat you desire to lose. Remember, if you are shaped like a big pear, and just lose weight, you will just be a smaller pear. But with resistance training, you can change that shape as well as lose weight at a faster rate, and have the tone you are looking for. You can do it. Lots of great programs to choose from on this site. Good luck to you.

"First off i would het off the slim fast and get a good quality mrp." Definately. The protein in Slim Fast is very low BV (biological value) and Slim Fast is mostly sugar, I believe. The only way it makes you lose weight is by starving your body with far too few calories. If you don't eat more in a day, believe it or not, you won't lose as much weight and you'll gain it back when you start eating normally.

Absolutely. Keep in mind that you want to lose fat and not muscle. With the diet that you're currently on, you'll lose weight alright, but a lot of it will come from muscle. Try to reach 2000 calories a day every day. You could even go a little higher to start out with. Your breakfast, by the way, is great - very healthy! Personally, I'd ditch the short cardio work that you do immediately after your lifts and just stick to the afternoon jog that you do. Keep up the work and you'll definately see results.
