there are a lot of exercises..you can use the adductors/abductors machine at your gym if you have one. Also this is a pretty good exercise..lie on your back with your knees bent and left your torso up as high as you can..leg exercises can indirectly work the buttocks like leg presses, squats, barbell lunges, dumbbell lunges and ofcourse the leg curls which primarly works the hamstrings.

Straight leg deadlifts will help, with the butt.
Squats help with all lower body. (don't be affraid of them)
Leg extensions and thigh machines work your thighs.
Iv'e trained women before, just be patient.

squats and leg curls would be enough for all thigh muscles and buttocks. If you want to train your inner thighs harder you can widen your foot stance when squatting, also increase the angle between your feet in a V like shape. hope i'v helped.

an exercise that i used to do in high school during sports is easy and can be done any time with no equipment.
while standing, squat down as far as you can until you reach about the sitting position (like you are sitting in an invisible chair) hold that position for a count of 20. do this for about 3-4 reps. you will definitely feel it, for the inner thigh widen your stance.

good luck

I thought from biking for about at least 1/2 hour a day today for about 1 year would save me from some marjor soreness. But doing the Sissy squats (squating down until you are about to reach the heals of your toe) wow, your thighs get sore after about doing one set. The first time I did the Sissy squats (4 sets of 10), it left me sore for about 2 days.

Good luck

Hi Kelly:
This is also a problem area for myself as well as many women. I have been athletic all my life and I practice martial arts. Bore is right...patience is key some helpful exercises include: Straight Dead Lift (which isolates the hamstring), Leg Curls, Squats (machine are best when starting out), Lunges, abductor and adductor machines, and if you have ankle weights try kicks. Side kicks, back kicks etc. If it is a real problem area for you, use the ankle weights daily while watching tv...trust me you will begin to see a difference. You have the muscle now all you have to do is find it. Good luck:)

What's an easy, fast way to loose fat in the thighs without any machines or equipment? I lift weights often (including squats, leg extensions, leg curls, etc.) however, I can never seem to loose the little fat in my thighs. Any suggestions?

Yes I know it's hard and sometimes frustrating but no other answers but training, diet and massage.... :surprised:

Bringing calves to your thighs....you can do them sitting, lying, or standing one foot at a time.....

But I hope you know how to do deadlifts, deep squats, step ups, and lunges...if you want great results....

Since my knee injury, over a period of two years, I have gained weight in my mid-section only. Mid-section being my waist, buttocks/hips, and thighs. What exercises are knee injury friendly to help loose and tone those areas?

I read all of the above post when I first started working out with this website. I have been doing squats, lunges, and deadlifts for about a month and the results are very nice. My question is about a specific area, right below the butt. How do I target this area? I thought it was the hamstring and the deadlifts would help but that pocket of fat remains and looks kinda funny. Perhaps I am doing the deadlifts wrong b/c I never feel sore afterwards. Another exercise or a better description of the deadlift would be helpful.

Nevermind about the description I just found a great one, but any other exercises to target that area would still be helpful and also I do not have gym access so I need home exercises.

fat loss will mostly be about your diet, lindzhigh.

stifflegged deadlifts are a good one to develop a nice shape in the glute-ham tie in but diet will get rid of the fat.

milzonea: diet and exercise, diet and exercise.....

If I want to loose weight quickly I increase my running, both in distance and intensity while decreasing my caloric intake, eat really healthy meals, and stay well hydrated.

It never hurts to visualize how you want to look and always see yourself in this way.

Good luck!
