I just took my body fat percentage on this. Which measured 27%. This says I am moderately overweight. That makes absolutely no sense. I'm 5'11, 145 and extremely lean. Almost skinny. What gives!!! Why are they not factoring in my height?

Just because you are skinny doesn't mean you don't have a high bodyfat percentage. How much lean muscle do you have? Then again, the calculator could be off as well.

Well, I'd have to say I am toned. I have well defined muscles. I don't know if its lean or not. I am more toned than anything. I follow a very good diet, do 30-45 minutes of moderate to high intense cardio 3 to 4 times a week and I strength train using this as a guide 4 times a week. I think the calculator is off.

According to my BF iam borderline obese..and when I did it I got really frustrated..so I dont pay attention to it anymore...Your best gauge should be how you feel, not what the BF measurement says OR what the scale says

Online calculators usually aren't very accurate. You'd be better off using calipers.

question, i have a weight scale that measures your BF% and i'm 5'2, weigh 124 lbs, and my body fat varies 30-36% which is high....what do i do to lower that? i am not in shape by any means....my arms and legs are thin, its my mid section that needs the toning, as i have had two kids in the past 2-3 years......what helps to lower that?

Hi - your scale could be off, but it could be close. A lot of things can effect the way your scale reads your percentage. I would advise you to get your composition done with calipers - call a local gym and see if the trainers know how.

Part two of your question - a good workout routine and proper eating plan will help you lose bodyfat and feel firmer as well as cut your risks for many health problems associated with high bodyfat levels.
This site has a program generator for a workout routine - look at the top of the page at "exercise program" it will ask you questions about goals and equipment and then give you a plan.

A far as eating - check out the post in the fitness forums - WSSC food plan - that is a good plan to try and see how you body responds, most people using it are seeing fat come off, without being hungry.

There are tons of posts relating to your question - do some searching and reading.
Good luck!
