My question is what body fat % is a good estimate of when someone would start seeing their abdominals. All people are different, but for the most part, what would be a general estimate? Also, I have a scale that tells body fat %. How accurate do you think it is?

i'm guessing somewhere around 8 to 10%.

As for the scale, not horribly accurate, but it is a guide to see which way you are going.

Some guys will see the outline around 11% or lower, really defined around 8% or lower (men compete between 5-8%).

Women may see some indication/definition around 12-13%, defined below 9-10%(women compete 7-9%)
