I was wondering what the best muscle/fitness magazine is out there. I don't plan on subscribing, just picking one up every now and then. Thanks for your suggestions!

for overall info (bodybuilding, fitness, powerlifting, supplements, nutrition, etc.), i strongly suggest Jeff Everson's Planet Muscle.

What do you think of Ironman 8ball? It seems a little to hooked on promoting all the flash in the pan supplements for me.

LOL Bad attempt at humor. Just my opinion but I wouldn't buy anything that Weider produces. There's a lot of quality products out there that's just as good and in most cases better that doesn't get a huge mark up for the Weider name.

ironman USED to be a high quality mag, covering many aspects of the iron game. but they have really started down the path of muscular development and muscle mag, being that is has basically become a national enquirer.

for women, most of my less-than-hardcore female customers like oxygen.

you should try testosterone mag... they have practically no ads... but you could also check what they out on the mag of their website testosterone.net, theres a no bullsh** muscle mag... and planet muscle mag... but they said they would put any ads or put products saying which one is better then the other and now they put it... but I like it anyways I get it every 2-3 months. your choice

Muscle&Fitness is a great mag. So is all of Weiders products. I bought an Olympic weight set by Weider about 3 years ago as a home gym and its the best money I have ever spent! It cost me 250.00 for 300 lbs of free wights, adjustable bench, complete spotter cage, tricep press, lat pull downs, leg extentions, ect...well u get the point....

I read a free issue of HARDGAINER and its got tons of excellent information. Its not full of advertisements like all the mainstream mags. For more information and to read the free issue go to _www.hardgainer.com_

well, since we're now talking about our favorite "muscle" mags in general, here's my top 5 (no particular order):

Jeff Everson's Planet Muscle
Univeral Matters
Testosterone
Powerlifting USA
Milo

Those must be special order mags because I didn't see any of those at Books a Million or Walden Books?

Although I haven't subscribed to it yet (still considering it) the only mag that pretty much caught most of my intrest was one called Hardgainer ( http://www.hardgainer.com ) ..
I saw on another board or website that I first heard of it on that the mag mostly focuses on natural bodybuilding and doesn't have very many ads in it...

I checked out Planet Muscle and really like it. Muscle and Fitness Hers also looks good, but you can't preview the articles online, just see a list of the table of contents. Testoterone is a little too advanced for me, but had a few really great articles that you can print out/view online. Oxygen covers too many areas besides "light" fitness--it didn't really appeal to me but I see how some women would like it. I'll check out the other ones. Thanks all--thanks rev8ball-
