I am curious to know, if you don't mind sharing it, how much protein do you consume on a daily basis. Also, how much do you weight and how much of the other nutrients(Fats and Carbs) do you consume? Thanks

when i was training for competition, my overall caloric intake was anywhere between 6000 and 7000, roughly. it broke down into about 700g of carbs, 500g of protein, and 150g of fats. this, of course, would differ slightly depending on what type of cycle i was doing, but this was the basic regimen.

I am at 160lbs. right now, hovering at just getting below the 6% bf mark. I am just at 1 1/2 weeks from my next contest. I am right now taking in on my exact diet 225 gr. protein, 53 carb, and almost 0 fat. Now 2 days a week I have a late carb meal, this keeps the metabolism in check, and helps keep you hard and is useful for glycogen storage so your workouts don't go totally down the tubes! this is about as close as it gets for me. Now next week, my last week, things will change somewhat. But this has been my diet for the last 8 weeks. Overall 1250 calories or extremely close. Would have to look at my journal for sure.

I may mention that I take in another 50 grams of protein in supplements above this, amino acids and liver. This regimine keeps me calorie dense while dieting.

Normally, you should only consume 1-2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. That's what people do normally.
Now wether training for a show or doing some mass cycle or something else, then that will change dramatically.
If you're just training for health, size and overall shape, then 1-2 grams/per pound of lean bodyweight is fine.

Well said Dang....I have tried to preach this point over and over. When in contest training, the rules change.

Thanks bb1fit. I guess we are all in agreement on this issue. Obviously during precontest the protein intake will be higher than normal. Isn't it amazing that some people, who are not, or never in a precontest mode, consume these large amounts of protein.
Good luck with your show!!!
