Hi everyone, I'm a 20 year old male and recently have been having acne problems mostly around my chin area. Has anyone else expereinced this? I am not taking and type of performance enhancement, just eating alot and alot of meat and protein... Does anyone know if any of this is linked?
thanks

Protein is completely and totally unrelated to acne. Fatty foods are usually more responsibile, if even at all, for acne, but I would say that most acne is at least 80% genetic, meaning you'd have it no matter what you did.

could just be a late onset of acne.. some people get it in their teens and some later in life. if you are eating a healthy diet and drinking alot of water, it shouldnt be a diet problem.

could it be allergic reaction to something else?

How much protein are you eating daily?

Sometimes an unusual breakout may occur simply from contact. If you live in a warm area and you're sweating you may be occasionally rubbing your chin unconsciously. Just a thought!
Aslo if you've changed any products that you regularly use - soap, face clenser, shampoo, shaving cream, after-shave, etc.

excess protein is just inefficently turned into excess glycogen, I've never heard of it contributing to acne. I'd suggest using proactive, it's a nightly 3 step anti-acne treatment. It really does a good job.

Protein should not cause that. I would say that it is coming from something else and not from eating protein, good luck !
