It claims it has 55g of protein for serving what are your thoughts?

Also should I be taking my protein shakes everyday or just when I workout?

13 servings per container..not bad...best bet in my opinion is to use only 1 scoop and 8 oz. of skim milk, giving you roughly 35 grams of protein per serving (and spreading that tub out to last longer than a week ;)

Should I take the protein only when I workout or should I take it on my off days also. Also just one cup a day or multiple?

You need about 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight per day.

Popular thought used to be that you suck down carbs for fuel before your workout, and protein after.

Now, the thought is that you should take protein and carbs before, and protein and carbs after.

I've had my best results by drinking a protein shake mixed in skim milk roughly 1 hour before the workout, and downing some kind of protein (usually that's a protein bar for me) immediately after a workout, within 20 or 30 minutes after the workout is over.

Yes, you need as many grams of protein on an "off" day as an "on" day. Your body is healing on those off days, and it needs the extra protein to avoid going into a catabolic state, whereby you are losing random muscle mass because your body breaks down muscle tissue to rob it of protein to repair other muscle tissue that you've "ripped."

As far as multiple cups, that depends. How much protein are you getting from your regular diet?

I thought about protein bars even have a box stored away and they tasted god awful so Im looking into something that tastes a little bit better.

But once im done making my protein shake and adding everything I need into it. (milk/protein/peanut butter) I usually get about 47 grams of protein just in the drink. Not bad. during the whole day Id say almost anywhere around 100grams of protein per day. Im going to have to pick up some of those bars though. I have just been taking the protein shakes on my on days maybe Id see better results by taking them on my off days as well.

Do not have this protein shake immediately post training. You want something much quicker. This is a great shake for later in the day, especially if trying to gain, but not post workout. And your post workout shake should be immediately post training, no more than 30 min., less if possible for optimum effects.

Check out the thread, "Whats everyones favorite protein shake" in the supplement category. It is laid out very well in there. http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/pro/Message.jsp?f_ix=13&t_ix=1276
