if you have, does it hurt after surgery? My friend mike had surgery cause of a hernia when he was 9. He said the pain is horrible! Is it really painfull after surgery? and how long do you have to wait to go back to lifting after surgery? I am going to the doctors this week to check out if i have a hernia, i know i do cause its obvious, i have a lump, and i get pain when i touch it.

it all depends on what type of hernia and where it's located. most are repaired quite easily now.

i thoght i had a hernia with those symptons and all it turned out to be was a pulled muscle ...good luck

I have a small hernia dont need sergery for it just look after it properly. If nothing else it is great for ensureing proper posture cuz thats when it flares up doing something the wrong way. I know a guy who has one like you discribed even my mother has the same type when it bulges out they just push it back in hurts like hell while you are doing it but once its back every thing is fine untill the next time.Good luck to ya
