Hi...does anyone have any advice about what exercises to do to minimize calves from getting too muscular? I think I am a little genetically predisposed to having larger calves, and I am very self-conscious about them. I've been running and using the eliptical step machine, but no weights.

Stretch them!!!!! Work them while stretching. No weights but looots of repetitions (at least 4 times 20) Rest only 30 secs between each set.
You'll see, it hurts at first but after around four weeks you'll have results.

I hear many women complain about the size of their calves. I would suggest taking advantge of your genetics and show them off. MANY MANY people would kill to have larger calves.

I like to work my calves, because it shows off great definition, but I don't want huge calves. I stay with low weights and reps are pretty high.

I have also heard if you do a lot of running your legs become thinner.

Yes lots of endurance running can make your leg thinner. Why? Because you are "drying out" the muscle fibres....... You'll keep the strength but not the mass.
