How long until I see results?

I've been working out for about 6 years on and off but for the past 6 months now i've been going from 3 to 4 days a week. I am getting stronger. I can lift much more weight than when I started but I'm not seeing any gains in my physical appearance. I have a super fast metabolism. I'm 5'9 140 and can't seem to put on any bulk. I see some results in my back and shoulders but not in my legs, calves forarms, bi's or chest.

Sounds like this is a food problem. What is your diet like? And also please fill out your profile. We'll be able to more accurately answer your questions.

I eat about 2,500 calories a day more or less. I don't really count them, i'm just estimating. ft says I should eat about 3,500/day with my body but I'm finding it hard to eat that much. It's more like a chore. Is it possible that I'm just not meant to put on the pounds? I'm getting frustrated.

well it doesn't only depend on how many calories you eat, but also the food type. To gain muscel u need to eat ALOT of protein!
i ahve the same difficulty as you. i also find it hard to eat so much. look for protein and carbohydrate rich foods.
eggs and milk are for example high on protein...

Remember this rule: to gain mass, you must consume more calories than you burn in a day. So, if you have a fast metabolism, you need to increase your caloric intake even more. It sounds like you need to definitely increase your intake. If you're a hardgainer, supplement with a weight gainer. These are also good if you feel you can't eat many meals during the day. Just make sure you are constantly feeding yourself (every 2-3 hours).

If you can't do the above, then you will never gain weight. Take it from a classic hardgainer...

i want to put on some mass so i have to eat more than i can burn. that meen that i can it whatever i want?
if i eat more it will be difficult for me to have great abs, isn´t it? what can i do to have abs and mass at the same time?

No, that doesn't mean eat whatever you want. You still want to eat healthy...especially foods high in protein. I've always said that if you want to gain mass, you will gain some fat. However, don't worry about that for now. Some individuals are able to gain mass and lose fat at the same time, but I believe that to be genetic.

Thanks Rob. I thought I was going crazy. I have been eating like crazy and I'm STILL losing fat. I was actually starting to go a little stir crazy about it. Asking walls if I was losing weight, people on the street, trees, little forest animals,etc. hehe but really thanks, cause I wasn't sure if it was even possible.
Another question though.
If your body needs more calories than you consume to grow, does that mean that your body will start using the calories stored in fat? Is that why I'm still losing weight?

Kakaroto, your abs will show when you begin to lower your bodyfat level. However, if you plan to gain mass, you'll be increasing your bodyfat level slightly. But after you've obtained the desired mass, you can then begin to diet (lower your caloric intake) and lose the excess fat. Understand?

Cain, you are probably losing weight because you are either burning more calories than you are consuming, or are genetically gifted with the ability to gain mass and lose fat simultaneously. And to answer your question, provided your protein intake is fairly high (1-1.5g per pound of bodyweight), your body should go after stored fat (as body fuel) if you are not consuming enough calories.

I think that is what's happening. I am close to my protein/carbs goals, but am anywhere from 500-1500 under on my calories everyday. This will be a problem for me later from what I can see. Once the fat is gone, then I just won't be able to grow without hitting my nutritional goals. Thanks for the info.

how many days per week do you have to train to put on some mass to your body? 5 days? 3 days?....it doesn´t matter?...how many days would you train?

Since we're on the topic of eating and losing fat, I would like to know, if I eat a whole bunch of protein with calories (in 5 meals a day) but I still work out and do cardio 3 times a week for about 30mins or so, do I end up gaining weight or losing weight?
I ask because my goal is to do both, gain muscle (size specifically) but at the same time lose fat. But you guys are saying that I have to gain weight in order to gain size. Well I am a little bit chubby as it is, and I don't really want to gain anymore fat. Muscle size would be much better! :)

Hi guys.. am 15 year old gURL.. i was Pregnant But i had a missed carriage.. but during my pregnancy AND I I GAIN IN WEIGHT.. I WAS A SIZE 3 IN JEANS AND NOW IVE JUST GOT SO BIG I GOT A BIG STOMACH BUT I DONT NOE HOW TO LOS EIT.. WHAT TYPE OF
