I have a question for all of you. I've never really seriously worked out much before, but I've started really getting into it as of a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering how long should I expect it to have to notice some real results. I know two weeks isn't long enough, but I was just wondering if anyone out there could give me a ball park estimate. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to ft! Have you already signed up for an ft program? Also, you should fill in your profile and share you goals and current training regimen so that we can provide better advice.

Without really knowing how you have been working out, I'd just have to say that it depends on a lot of things, like your age, workout routine and intensity, diet, resting pattern, etc. Most people start to see some results in about 4-8 weeks.

Good luck!

If you choose a quality program and discipline yourself to stick with it, you should start seeing results within 4 weeks or so. Sometimes its difficult to see your own progress. When other people see your physique improving and make comments, that's when you know good things are happening.

I just started my fifth week and I have noticed dramatic results. I just had my bodyfat done on Friday. I knew that I has lost 10 lbs but I also lost 3.5 percent body fat. I love the way that my clothes fit and am going home in about three weeks, so I get to go shopping. I am really happy with my results, but I started to notice at about three weeks, so don't lose your motivation. Remember that there will be times when you feel that you aren't changing but your body is just going through it's peak at that time and with continuous exercise you will see your results.

But you know it's not only the time you're training that counts, it's also in the time out of the gym...... To change your body is a life style change so eat healthy, get your needed rest etc and you'll see faster results.

Good luck!

Like everyone else is saying, it really does depend. I've been working out hard for 2 weeks and I've been running too. I'm already seeing changes in my arms, chest, abs, and legs. They are small, but there. I also feel GREAT!
