Greetings to All,

I have been working out for about 1.5 months, and been a memeber of fT for about 2 weeks, andway, since I started working out I find myself waking up around 3am in the morning craving something sweet. Is that bad..I know I need sweets..maybe need to increase carbs...to much carbs..Any suggestions..

Are you looking for weight loss?
If you are a typical ectomorph; tall slim and burns all the calories right after having been eating, then go along (even though a fruit would be a lot better better than sweets) But if you want to loose some weight then you probably know the answer; nooo it's not the very best idea to eat sweets during the night..... (you don't need the energy to sleep....)
First of all try to look at what you are eating before going to sleep. Sugar attracts sugar. Try to be without the choc and icecream for dessert and grap a delicious protein shake. Secondly if your cravings are that strong try simply to drink 2 big glasses of water (and wait for 15min), take a fruit or drink a cup of hot choc.

How do you feel at this time when you say "you need sweets"?
Are you simply hungry, which means you may need to increase you caloric intake. Or are you shaky, weak? Then maybe you are eating simple carbs in the evening and your blood sugar is dropping ? In that case it could be the type of carbs you are eating. Its hard to say with out knowing more about your diet.

Try eating an MRP bar when you wake up or something. I used to have those late night cravings too. Now, I eat a bunch of low glycemic carbs before bed with a good amount of protein and everything is much better now. Drink a shake before bed (Myoplex and Lean Body are the best) and that should work.
