I just can't seem to work- out well if there's no music playing. It really keeps those adrenaline glands going. Whenever I listen to bands like Pantera, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, and Megadeth when I'm working out, it seems lyk as if I cud continue lifting weights for 2 straight hours. I'm a major rock fan and I also play the guitar. So do you guys also listen to music while ur working out?

Hey welcome...sure I listen to music when I'm working out, especially hardcore. By the way, there was already another topic started about music by Cain, it's called techno/house/trance (something like that).

There's a thread on music like this already.. I like listening to rock while I workout if I have batteries.. Things like slipknot.. pantera.. metallica.. rage.. soil.. etc.. anything loud and quick is great.. but then if I don't have batteries (or like now my headphones are broken) then silence is just fine..

Oops! Didn't know Cain had a similar topic. My apologies.I just wish we here at the Philippines had gyms that play kick ass hardcore rapmetal/metal songs. The gyms here are pretty quiet. No music of whatsoever, well sometimes. So long have u guys been working out? R u guys also into GUITAR playing?

Hey Rocker...I don't mind the similar topic. I've been training for about 4 months now. I don't play the guitar, but I do play the tuba.

I've found that music helps keep me focused which is the big thing. On days I don't happen to turn the music on I notice myself losing count of reps, and my mind wanders off.

At my Y, they just play the radio. I don't like having headphones on so I just deal with it. I do listen to my headphones when I'm just doing cardio though. I just got lostprophets, so that's what I currently like to listen to.

Oh and I have a guitar but I have no idea how to play it and I think I need to get it repaired because the fourth string is too close to the fret.

Michael, we need to work out together, man. Your music and style of routine is very close to my own.
