I'm not having a very good week. Last Monday my Doctor told me I couldn't lift for a month, and then Sunday my girlfriend left me. :( It is for the best for both of us, but I'm still bummed. Ever have on of those days??

Cain - What knocked you out of the gym? As for the relationship, there's always more or you could do like me and getting ready to get married for the second time. Of course it's to the same woman so I'm not sure how to count that. :)

I ended up with tendanitis in my right shoulder. Doc said I couldn't lift anything over 20lbs for a month. I have like 20 days left before I can lift again. As far as the girl, it's not the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

That's the right attitude. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Mike--- I would only count that as one.... with just a break in between.

Cain, no worries man. If you are like me, you have tons to talk to all of us about all day, after a day at the office, you haven't too much to talk about with the little lady. She doesn't understand how important this is to you and you don't feel like trying to win her over to your side becuase she won't appreciate it the way you do. Close? As I said before, you'll eventually meet someone who lets you do your thing and is happy when you are together. It took me until 26, and after so many g'friends.
In addition, you may have to give up a little more of YOUR time than you care to admit. That is the hardest part.

Good luck, hey Steelers training camp starts in about 30 days! Start saving up for the Super Bowl!

Thanks everyone. Nina...definetly. Not only that but I know I've got two people who will suit up and take the other end of the strip...I might even pick up a sabre..
Ischjli,
Your close about me, but my work never got in the way of my love life. That's so not my style. Life, love, and pretty much anything comes before work to me. I'm still rebellious I guess. My general attitude is that now I have nothing to distract me from lifting. I just need a spotter!

Cool, about the work thing. I never bring mine home, problem is, my work consists of coversing with people ALL day. I am tired of talking when I get home.

Might be time to join a gym? Or, you could always put out and add in the paper, if you want to go to those lengths and invite someone into your home. Could be cool (who knows who'll you
ll meet) and you'd be saving someone some cash.

LOL! Yeah I used to converse with people constantly also, but now I'm in a small office so it doesn't bother me. I like your ad. I may just do that.

Did you ex use to workout with you, Cain? If so, that's pretty cool.

Actually that's a good question...... How many of you people out there work out with your girl/boyfriend (wife or husband)?!!!!

I know that I cannot work out with my husband....... Hmmm he's waaaaaaay too slow for me and I get sooooo impatient and it's just no good. Lets say that I'm a speed kinda a nutty gym person and he's a more slow calm and steady guy moving his dumbells with lots of philosophy and awareness.....

Nothing bad about that but it just doesn't match in the gym.....

I never worked out with my ex, our workout philosophies were too different. He was an every once in a while is fine with me type guy and he worked out at home with minimal equipment.

Well, I work out at home. I don't know what your definition of minimal equipment is though. I can do 90% of the exercises at home. The only things I can't do are cable exercises, and some of the specialized stuff.

Well, all he had was a bench (no attachments of any kind) and a bar and those dumbbells with the weights you can change. I don't even think the bench change inclinations (if that is the correct word). I do some of my workouts at home, but I have a much better bench (flat, incline, decline) that goes with my squat rack which also has an extension for pulldowns, a leg extension, and a preacher curl attachment, as well as just a regular flat bench, an ez curl bar and an assortment of dumbbells.
Too much information, I know.
But even still, whenever he would ask if I wanted to workout it would be extremely late and I had usually already done what I was going to do. Additionally, he didn't understand --or should I say was not complementary to-- the lifestyle I was trying to lead (such as watching what I eat and making the time to be active).
