That shouldn't hurt. The label on my jug says "take 1 - 4 servings daily, depending on your daily need." I usually take 3.

I take three a day also at 20 grams protein a serving (EAS brand). Pro Blend 55 has 55 grams per serving. With that high amount of concentration, I think I'd only do 1 or 2 a day. The key is just to be aware of how many grams you've had through the day. As I'm sure your aware, you should have about 1 gram per pound of body weight.

But have you noticed how BIG pro blends scooper is? And that you have to take two of those humongous scoops to get the 55 g protein? I split it up though, and just take one scoop after working out and one before bed time.

Also, I believe the body doesn't have the capacity to process too much protein all at once. So, keep the intake at around 50g or less per consumption. Your daily goal is 1-1.5g per pound of bodyweight.

Has anyone ever taken Night time protein? For those of you who don't know what it is, you take it at night right before bedtime and it's supposed to breakdown very slowly in your system during your sleep. I hear it's the latest thing and that it could be as big as creatine.

Hmmm yes joe but you can do that with a "normal" protein shake as well by mixing it with milk or eating some nuts or flax seed oil next to it.
Why? Because the carbs from the milk or fat from the nuts will automatically slow down the absorbtion of the protein in your body as well.

AND it's a lot cheaper.........

Creatine is different.

That nighttime protein stuff is just garbage. There have been sooooo many negative articles written about the stuff and I don't believe it works. It has never been scientifically researched or proven to work. All that these suppplement companies are doing is adding glycerine to the protein and calling it "time-released". Milk protein and egg albumin break down rather slowly; so eat some egg whites and drink a glass of skim milk before you go to bed and you have "time released protien" without wasting your money on supplements that don't work.

jnellie,
You can pretty much drink as many shakes as you want to in a day, as long as you're getting enough protein per day. Of course, the bulk of your protein should be consumed as whole foods, though. You should be OK. The most it will do is give you gas.... I' sure all of us have experienced that some time or another!

Hey thanks Philia2 and jbennett, your input is much appreciated. I'll try what you said. I wish I knew about what you told me before I bought that super expensive stuff....
