Eating before workout

Thank you to everyone who replyed to my question about putting on muscle! Now, my new question is, see I eat dinner at about 5:30 or 6:00 no later than 7:00 or 7:30 in the evening. Normal size portions just to satisfy my hunger. But I find when I wake up in the morning (I usually workout about 5:30, 6:00 in the morning)that I am really hungry. I mean hungry to a point that I feel weak. Now Ive heard that working out on an empty stomach is good for burning fat, but I find it difficult to keep my energy up If i don't have something in my stomach. So when I get like that I have like a bannana or 5 or 6 grapes or something. Something just to get me through the workout so that I can have a productive workout. Is this okay. Or does anyone have any better suggestions? thx... in advance

never, ever, EVER workout when you're starving and feeling weak! you'll just end up doing more harm than good. and, trust me, going hypoglycemic is noooooo fun!

two things you can do: 1. eat a protein meal right before bed (or drink a shake). 2. eat a carb and protein meal before your workout. you'll see better results when lifting weights.

Hows a Slim Fast bar for the carb and protein shake before my workout? And this will yeild better results?

A protein shake is what I drink before my morning Work Outs. If you feel weak you'll get nothing from your work outs and you'll definitely not burn any fat either.
