I just visited my personal nutrition page and it says there that I need the following amounts daily,

Protein -
221 g .. maximum 10% variance is acceptable
Carbohydrates -
515 g .. maximum 10% variance is acceptable
Fats -
102 g .. maximum 10% variance is acceptable
Total Calories -
3675 .. calculated maximum, do not exceed for current goal

Well when I now checked my protein shake it states that per 30g of shake I get 24.8Gr of Protein and 1.2gr of carbohydrates but the suggested amount per day is 30Gr???? ALso I visited the page of the different food groups and here also I see very small numbers. Should I start looking for more powerfull shakes as supplement which offre more protein and carbohydrates per serving???
How in Gods name do I reach these numbers daily??

Also tell me what the best food supplement(shakes or other)is.

Thnx very much in advance,

I recall Cainsands posting something about Prolabs N2Large, you could probably do a search for it on here or elsewhere. And I think with a little experimentation and maybe a food diary, you will soon find out that you can probably get closer to those numbers than you think.

I read up on that N-Large and goddamn you are right, my protein shake only has 24.8gr per serving and N-Large has more than double of that also it has 60 times as much carbohydrates:):)

Mmmm guess I will order this right away!!

Thnx alot for the advice,

Most sincerely,

Just don't make the mistake alot of folks do and use shakes to make up most of your proteins. For serious growth it needs to come from whole foods.

Cain is right. You should try to hit your targeted amount of protein and carbs by eating 5-7 meals a day! The protein shakes (specifically the MRP suggested) should help you, but you cannot solely rely on it for the most part.

Yes I allready deducted this myself, I use the shakes solely as added booster just in case I miss certain compounds. I now eat 6-7 times a day including alot of fruits as well and I can feel the difference. A month ago I could not imagine that I could eat as much as I do now, but now its as if I found a special compartment in my stomach caus I do not know where all the food is going hehehhe

Enkidu, you are funny. Just wait, wait. If you keep eating, and try to and succeed in reaching your caloric goals, you will gain SERIOUS mass. It is crazy, I totally agree, to think that by just eating (even though it isn't easy) you can pack it on, but it is THE way. Of course, you must lift and rest too. Good luck.

Thats the way yes indeed:) At my workplace certain individuals have allready laid their eyes on my new packed lunchbox which to them seems very peculiar for such a skinny guy hehehhe
They must think I have a colonworm heheheh, I am just keeping a low profile about me BBing, they will find out in a good few months time where all my food has been going.

Since my retirement left me bored, I now run the security team for a corporation. Luckily there are two managers here that work out and have no problem with my taking a meal every 2-3 hours. I employ one other that does the same and make allowances for it. Companies in general like their employees to maintain good health, it promotes a positive attitude in the work place. If your employer isn't aware of your special nutritional needs, have a talk with them, you may be pleasantly suprised at the outcome. They can only say no at worse case. Personally, I don't hire slobs or bean poles, unless of course they shoot like Jesse James and project the attitude of a Doberman.

Frankly, I have found it CHEAPER to buy non fat cottage cheese, egg whites, and soy products with their more complete array of amino acids than to buy a powder. They are charging about $35-$40 for a 20 serving supply in this area...ok ok so I like my food chewable.

I only take protein powders on days when I'm keeping my carbs low, otherwise I'd never get the amount of protein I needed on those days (I can only eat so many egg whites and cottage cheese is icky!).

I am with ice man on this one the best way is to eat whole foods not powders. Plus with as baby coming I just can not see spending the money on it.
