What supplements do I need to maintain wholesome living and optimal health? I take a multi vitamin and a fish oil capsule every day, and maintain a healthy diet. What else?
Below is a list of supplements that I recently had. Its time to replenish, and I'm interested in which ones are worth it. Granted, there are some on the list that some some may I can consume through diet. "Green tea extract" for example, because I can drink green tea. I do, and I imagine the concentration of green tea in the capsule is stronger than a cup.
Also, anything else I might want to add.
CoQ 10
Cranberry extract.
Bee Pollen.
Ginko.
Blueberry extract
Fiber
L-arginine
L-cartinine (sp?)
Liver Pills
Grape seed extract
Acai Berry extract
Green Tea extract
Cherry extract

I'm just looking at that and thinking of all the food I could have bought for that.
Up the dose on fish oil (it's a fat, 10-20 grams is optimal), look into a protein supplement if you need it, and try to keep your fiber intake up through food. Other than that, scrap the rest. Some of them do have their benefits (CoQ10, grape seed as an OPC antioxidant) but you won't notice a difference if you stop taking them.

one of the problems of removing perps, lmao.
froshman...I think you should take more than one cap of fish oil for it to be beneficial, the aniti-oxidants are never a bad plan...liver pills make me puke... eat fresh, real foods take a multi..stop worrying. Unless you have an impaired immune system or an impaired digestive system, so you are not getting all the nutrients possible from the foods you eat (and that is a whole nother long and over-involved debate about nutrient quality in our foods and soil depletion and digestion...) you are pretty young, you eat healthy, you workout...you could be saving some of that supp money for retirement :)

Like I said, 10-20 grams and you should notice a difference. I'm a big fan of macro-loading (30g a week for 3 weeks with 200i.u. vitamin e followed by a 10g dose for a few months before repeating) because I have seen people show great results that way.

Ok, my misunderstanding.
Yeah, it seems like getting nutrients from food is hard because of the reasons you mentioned, in addition to the fact that they are often toxic unless you buy organic, which is another financial setback in itself.
I eat olive oil almost every day, and put peanut butter in my protein shake all week long. How much fish oil should I take?

You'll have to forgive me, i'm a bit confused. When you say "see results", what type of results are we talking about?
Also, I thought people took fish oil to supplement their healthy fat intake. Should I factor in the olive oil and peanut butter? Also, do you mean 10-20g a day, or a week?
