Hey, I'm 26yo 5'85" 185lbs (25%bf on tanita scale in the morning).

I've gone down to 167lbs b4 and 18%bf or even less, but through unhealthy means.. I gained 15lbs in the fall after I quit smoking and eating unhealthy, and no exercise.. So i want to get back in shape, especially for vacation in 10 weeks. Just need advice/comments/adjustements..

Nutrition: I'm using Sparkpeople to track calories, etc, and it recommends (per day)
1500-1850calories
197-284g carbs
39-68g fat
60-153g protein

As for exercise, im aiming 6 days a week:
day 1 cardio (jogging/running, or HIIT, or other form)
day 2 shoulders
day 3 cardio
day 4 back/triceps
day 5 cardio
day 6 biceps/chest
day 7 rest

I left legs off because of all the running, im sure ill get flak for this. I made the weights program on freetrainers, plus i'm doing the abs program. I select "fat loss" for my weight program and added wide shoulders as bonus.. I also am throwing some yoga/pilates 20min sessions..

So any comments or recommendations appreciated.. My hips are currently 41" and id like to get that down to atleast 36-37 again.. I wear size 34 jeans right now, and i fill them out, before I used to wear 32-33.. I'm not looking for a quick fix, well truthfully a bit for my vacation in 10 weeks, but a permanent way of life again..

Right now im eating about 2000 calories a day, and not alot of them are good calories ;) , im trying to get it in range with sparkpeople recommendations

Anyways eager to hear comments.. thanks in advance

Should i alternate between HIIT and regular running for cardio, or should i just do HIIT? I saw a program somewhere where they recommend HIIT to cut weight at a more rapid pace.. not looking for a quick fix like i said, but vacation is around the corner

You're going to get flak because it's stupid. You'd be better off leaving off running and doing high rep squats for cardio.

Also, you're fat intake seems low. Come to think of it, so does protein intake. I'd be more in favor of cutting out some of those carbs in place of more healthy fats (say some fish oil and a shot of olive oil each day).

I like to follow up HIIT with some low intensity cardio for 20 minutes (incline walk, jog, swim, etc).

Thanks for the advice :)

I used asimmers calculations from another post, they are at home, but its about 1850 calories, 130g protein, 200g carbs, and 50g fat.. sounds good?

I run 6x a week for 1/2hr each time AND do legs.

I suggest same as Wrestler, up the protein, cut some of the carbs. Good luck.
