in small increments as you feel ready..........

If you can complete your reps in all your sets and are not hitting failure, then increase the weight, i'd say go up by 5-10lbs at a time.

Typically I like to start light, and increase weight with each set, to where I am hitting failure on my last set, and only doing 6-8 reps.

No one can tell you exactly when or how much to increase, as the exact amounts is different in each individual. Over the yrs I have seen myself go up faster than training partners in some exercises, while they go up faster on others, so you need to learn your body, and how you respond to the weight, and you will then be able know when to increase your weight, and by how much you can increase.

The idea is overload of a muscle for growth, so always make it a point to challenge the muscle for continued progress. (with good form for the most part, and a term I hate to use because it is often misconstrued is 'controlled cheating).
