I have been stuck at this weight now for about 3 weeks without a loss, while still working out 5 days a week hard for a min of 1 hour a day. Calories are between 1500 - 1650 and I included supplements and a protein drink as well. Any other ideas on how to push past this plateau? I want to lose another 10 pounds of body fat to reach my goal.

Have you measured your waist instead of using the scales? Do you use more weight each time you work out? Dou you do the same things every time you work out? You're body needs rest and variation.

Do you do the same type of cardio for all 5 days? If so then you may need to switch that up. If you're doing steady state cardio try HIIT (search for it on this site). Have you tried cutting an additional 200 calories or so from your diet? You may need to clean it up even more than you already are to hit your goals.

I have lost almost another inch off my waistline in the past few weeks, so I am losing size, but not sclae weight. At least there is something going on w/ my body. I am slowly adding more weight when I lift each week, by about 5%- 10% each week or when the 4th set gets too light.
I have been lifting 3 days per week varying the bodyparts so that they are not worked more than 2x per week. The cardio I change it up almost every day between different exercise machines and also added some interval trainings last week. Last week I wasn't feeling well and only worked out 4 times and I actually feel better. Maybe I am over doing it and need more rest?

I am going to try dropping my calories to 1400 and see if that does something for me next week. Thanks!

If you are losing inches on your waist and not seeing the results on the scale don't worry about. As you build more muscle mass your weight might even go up. Remember muscle weighs more than fat. Don't always use the scale as the only measure of success... if you're seeing results in your body shape/tone then you are making progress.

Seems to me that you are making progress and are getting frustrated over a number. Scales are stupid. You're doing great.

I would NOT continue dropping calories because you run the risk of stalling your metabolism. If you are loosing body fat right now, and then continue cutting down your caloric intake, you may just end up putting your body into starvation mode, and it will hold onto every pound it can (specifically fat, as it will utilize your hard earned muscle for energy instead).

Don't rush this. This is a slow transition, but you are making progress. No one said it would be overnight.

Kylekash hit the nail on the head. BINGO! ALso if your calories are not sufficient for your activity level you will not drop fat it will stay with you. Figure on consumong 12-14calories per lb of bodyweight in order to reduce. Remember, like the others also said stop weighing yourself and judge by your close. I wouldn't call this a plateau after only 3 weeks. People usually hit a plateau after several months. Good luck and keep us posted with your results.

Thank you guys for your words of encouragement!! It's tough becuase I used to be smaller, but gained weight after taking my sedentary job and getting married. I am about 12 pounds over what I want to be on my 5'6 frame.

I haven't touched the scale since my first pots. I almost weighed myself last night at the gym, but stopped short. I want to keep feeling results and seeing it by the way I look and feel. I swear that the tae bo is really helping me burn more calories.
