Given that there is 3500 calories in 1 lb...

If i was to run non stop for 2 hours and meet that 3500cal mark

Would i have indeed "lost 1 lb of fat" or would i have lost ALOT of muscle aswell?

If you ran nonstop for 2 hours steady state you would have most likely slowed down your metabolism enough to gain that pound back by the end of the week.

There are studies that have shown steady state cardio not only to be less effective for fat loss, but to actually cause weight gain in some instances. 2 hours of running would be at the extreme end of this.

The body adapts quickly to regular routines. That is why we need to do different things, and why 20 min HIIT works better than running for hours.

And why 40 minutes of weight training with short rest intervals would be better than either alternative in the long run.

Absolutely true, when I first got a clue about this it completley changed how I train, for the better.
