I have just recently started back working out again, I am going to the gym 3 days a week. I usually warm up with cardio and then do my weights and then finish up the remainder of my cardio after I am finished with weights. My question is would there be any major benefit if, on the days I wouldn't normally go to the gym, to go and JUST do cardio? I wonder if this would be worth the time and how effective it might be in losing any additional weight? Any help with this....?

Nothing wrong with doing your cardio on an off weight day. In fact, many here suggest doing that instead of during a day for weights.

It sounds like a good plan, but I think it could lead to burning out if you're not careful. Try to stick to your 3 day a week schedule for a few months and if you feel like you need more or if you just want to do some extra now and then go for it.

If anything else don't do the cardio at the gym. Do something outside or around the house whatever. That can help keep you from getting burned out on the gym.
