Probably not in all honesty. I think a more attainable goal (depending how much time you have left before turning 14) may be 165 +/- 10 pounds.

Make sure to do more than just bench...legs, back, etc.

dont kill your self with training, take it easy your only 13. also what ecle5c said dont forget about the rest of you body, you dont want to have a huge chest and have chicken legs when your older, girls dont like that.

i beg to differ. ill be benching 225 while im 14. i just turned 14 and im already at 205. this is of course because im a mesomorph. muscle development is also influenced by your body type. what you need to do is get stronger legs and a REALLY strong core. they help alot in a bench press.

I'd worry more about what I am doing on deadlifts, squats, chin ups/pull ups, dips, standing overhead presses,etc......bench press/curls are not very significant for gaining strength/size....

Just because you can almost bench 225 at 14 doesn't mean that all 14 year olds can. He's at 135 right now, 225 within a year isn't very likely no matter what his body type.

Watch out working that heavy guys at such a young age. Your growth plates are still workign abd you can really damage them by lifting heavy before you are fully developed. You WILL regret it down the line. Better to go a little lighter and still be able to lift when you are 25.

This has been discussed in the past. Whoever started this line of thinking needs to have a weight dropped on them.

Steve I can disagree more. I had a foster child who had severe issues with his growth plates caused from heavy lifting he was made to do by his step father. He was almost 17 when he came to live with me and at that age your bones are still developing. While growing, the ends of the long bones are not hardened and if the damage is sever enough the person can have joint issues for the rest of their lives. Steve, this is a medical fact.
