What do you use before the gym to give you energy. My problem is that I am very tired after work. That is usually when I go to the gym. I tried to do it in the morning, but I just cannot fnction at 5am. Is there a drink or supplement I should give a try?:)

Make sure you are eating properly while you are at work, and try not to consume to many sugars (any kind of soft drink, etc) before the end of your shift.

I'd try getting an ipod and some music that puts you in the mood to train. You'd be surprised how much of a difference this makes.

Other than that, biotest puts out a product called power drive that contains high levels of tyrosine and b-vitamins, and I've found this helps to keep me energized. I like it a lot for when I have to stay up late to get work done.

i have a 1/2 c -1 c of oatmeal or grapes (healthy carbs)about 30 mins to an hr at the latest before i work out...then i chug a mini 8 oz can of diet pepsi on the way there for the caffiene boost...and i listen to pumped up music as well :D

do a search on the fitbuddy for post workout foods...there are a few threads about this already :) good luck!!

I tend to avoid recommending diet pepsi in cases where health is a concern.

Oatmeal would be a good choice though. You could add a protein powder to it for a protein and carb meal.

i think it depends on the person...it works for me atm..but im always switching up :p i was drinking unsweetened iced tea before instead of diet pepsi... sometimes ill drink a redline on my heavy leg day or when im not *to par*...ultimately you are right wrestler..i would never dispute that cause i love ya..hehehehe..but we know it also depends what level we are at with our training..etc...

Darn, I actually feel worse when I eat before I go. I just cannot work out on a full stomach. I really don't eat many sugars & I have been trying to stay away from diet sodas too. I take Vitamin B every day along with other supplements, and I listen to some great tunes on my ipod. Actually, my gym sounds like a club since the music is so loud! I just don't have energy!:(
