I like doing cardio/HIIT and weight training all in the same session, which one should I do first, or does it matter?

Hit the weights first. Pardon the pun.

Think about it like this. The point of weight training is to move as much weight and build muscle in order to raise your metabolism. If you do this first, you will be fresh for the weight training, and will already have a jump start on burning calories.

However...

If you do the HIIT first, then you will still burn the calories with the HIIT, but your muscles will be fatigued.

Basically it can be a win win or a win lose.

if you are trying to build muscle mass do weights first...also I try to do my cardio on off weight days except a 10-15 min small hard cardio...IF doing some intense HIIT I reccomend on weight off days or do it seperate times of days like weights in morning and cardio at night or vice versa

cardio in am and weights in pm is ideal..but if your like me and just cant get your but out of bed early enough before work, then do your HIIT after your weight training as stated by both above..

I just did HIIT for the first time yesterday before my workout, and that was definitely backwards. I would have had a more productive work-out if I had done the cardio last, or better yet, separately as jaytori advises.

It only makes sense to get the most from your woprkouts targeting muscle gain since that is whats going to raise your metabolism!!
