Both my wife and myself has signed up to freetrainers.com

we have both filled in our profiles and selected our goals and have been given our first weeks worth of workouts. Now the confussing part:

I am trying to put on weight in the form of muscle - about 25kg
My wife is trying to lose weight - about 25kg

our training workouts are 95% identical, and out nutrition page has her eating more than me.

How is this possible - How is it going to help us meet our completely opposite goals?

What's the 5% difference? I can't speak for the nutrition part, but is there is a difference in reps between you and your wife's plan?

the nutritional plans here are notorious for being off...better to read up in the nutrition forum and the general forum and the FAQs forum and use the calorie formulas there to calculate your needs.

Yes, I am curious what the differences are....

She will lose weight doing the same type of routine you do, as she won't bulk up the way you will because you have testosterone. But she will burn a lot of calories and increase her metabolism and firm up her muscles. The difference in your goals will come calorie wise, reaLLY. sHE NEEDS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BE AT A SLIGHT DEFICIT FROM HER NEEDS AND YOU NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BE AT A SLIGHT INCREASE OF CALROIES. Sorry, hit caps lock by accident:surprised:

There is 1 or 2 exercises that are different between our weekly programs, but all the listed sets/reps are the same.

I guess our weights can be different, but will lower weight for my wife actually do any good?

Our nutrition guides have my wife having about 25% more protein and carbs, 15% more calories, but about 50% less fat - this is daily.

I'll take a look at those other forums and see if we can figure out what we really need from the formulas.
