First off let me say, I quit drinking and smoking. Secondly, Im trying hard to watch my calories. Somedays I push 6000 cals and somedays it's only 2500 cals. My eating habit needs extreme taming. Anyhow, here's my breakdown:

Jonathan (Age:31)
Weight: 72.5 inches
Height: 152.4 lbs

Push-ups : 15,15,12,9
SideLats : 15,15,12,10 (5.0 lbs)
Chin-ups : 10,4,3,2
BicepCurls: 50,50,35,15 (15.0 lbs)
Dips : 15,15,12,10
Crunches : 30,15,12,10
Squats : 15,15,12,8
CalfRaise : 30,30,15,10

Maybe not a monster workout even for the amateurs, but WOW to that jello feeling! Is it natural for your bones to snap, crackle, and pop when you work-out? Thanks for the help and any tips would be appreciated.

Way to go. Just make sure you keep your workout in 'perspective'. In other words, do not overdo things.

I cannot count the number of times I have seen folks in the beginning are so gung ho, they start out with workouts they cannot possibly keep up with, and it usually fairly soon when the 'novelty' of it wears off, they cannot keep up with it and slowly fade away.

Not saying this is what you did, just something to keep in mind.

Great that you kicked those two lifestyle habits, your body will thank you and start healing soon. Take care not to over do it initially or you will be spending time searching the Injuries and Proper Treatment forum. (yep, I did!)

welcome to freetrainers...

Drave, Congrats man and great talking to you on Friday on your first day. Bb1 is right about overdoing. There is nothing wrong with low weight. You have nothing to explain nor defend in using lower weights, I mean hey, your doing it, aren't you? There are plenty of other people in the world that are not taking control of their "healthy" future. You are an exception to these couch potatoes. Soreness is OK, it means your muscles will be growing, pain is not, especially to the point where your limbs can't straighten without pain. Take it slow. You're doing GREAT!! As I always say, "STAY THE COURSE". This is more true now than it will ever be, because most, when they begin expect results immediately. When they don't get the results they desire because it DOES NOT happen overnight, they give up and go back to their previous unhealthy ways. You'll find that the workout routines that have been created for you will differ from time to time. This is done for a couple reasons, stimulate further muscle growth by "shocking the system" meaning keeping your muscles guessing, if you will, as to what you will do next. Doing the same exercises over and over causes your body to get used to them and not stimulate change. In addition, it helps eliminate the redundancy for you and makes your workouts much more enjoyable. Kick some tail, man. Let us know if you have any questions. You are well on your way. Best regards.

- Andrew

Thanks for the welcome mats and the congrats! Props to you Coastie for the pep-chat. Im also setting a weekly meal planner using Bb1's grocery list to balance my diet. Hopefully that will tame the eating habit... MY gf says the only thing left to change is my poker habit! I told her "Over my dead body" lol.
