I have spent the last 4 months eating, bulking and lifting. At first I thought "man I have gotten fat", but since going on what I call a cutting cycle the gains are, to my pleasant surprise, becoming evident.
My question is in the 3 weeks since I have changed my diet I am eating approximately 70%P/20%C/10%F. Is there any harm in doing it this way? I assume that by eating more protein it will spare some of the muscle. I have noticed some wicked cravings for carbs but so far have been able to keep them at bay by staring at my new found gains in the mirror .
Am I on the right track here?
Many thanks!!

try 50 or 60 percent and have a little more carbs and fat. The good fat will help you shed weight, beleive it or not, and supply energy for workouts so you can keep the muscle.

Thank you much!
I'll start adding a bit of natural peanut butter today as well as a little more brown rice.

Amy is right..upping your protein is just fine, but take in a higher amount of fats. Protein in and of itself will/may not spare lean mass if it has to be used for every function. Espceically so the leaner you get.

You will also want to include some refeed meals to keep your metabolism up - maybe every third day have one or two meals that have more complex carbs like rice or yams than usual.
Check bb1fit's diet thread in the nutrition forum - it is a lower carb with refeeds, I beliveve...might not be the right post, but I know it has been posted:)sorry...
