Im entering a bench press competition may 6th which is just a little under a month from now... I am getting my diet in track eating every 2 hours and stuff and getting in enough protein but right now I am about 14 lbs shy of the weight class I am going to be competing in and I want to give myself every chance to get there. Should I train like I normally do, 4 sets of 8-10 reps, 9-10 hours of sleep, adequate calories and meals a day etc... or should I go a bit heavier on the bench and try to get it up... basically I need a new routine to help me the most in this time period :) thx

why would you be doing 8-10 as a rep range for a push meet???

Because the 148 1/2 lb weight class is the lowest and I'm about 13 pounds under it... I suppose I'll do lower reps for this meet... I have been eating like crazy every 2 hours etc so I should gain some decent weight between now and then...

Well it's put on by my local air force base... my dad is retired Navy so I'm able to get into the gym with an ID and I work out alls I want so I was able to dodge the Gold's Gym bullet which came to our town and is $39.95 down and the same per month I think... basically I'm gonna have free gym service until I am about 23 or 24 and out of college it's pretty great

By the way is it pretty unusual to see someone doing wide-grip chin ups with a 100 lb dumbbell on their waist? This guy looked pretty effin huge too... :(

I take it back, not wide grip. Don't do wide grip often, but I'm sure I could manage a plate.
