I found out that I have some breakout (small pimples) on my the tricep area. This only happens when I work out a lot for the tricep. I saw my friends and other guys at the guy who also have the same problem like me. Does anyone know the cause and the treatment for this problem? Any infomation is appreciated.

Thank you.

Are you sure it's not some kind of an irritation?

asiansj...I can say that over the last year since I started to work out I have had breakouts along my shoulders, back and arms. I honestly can't tell you what it is. Make sure that you're cleaning those areas good after a workout though. One thing I've heard is a trip to the sauna after a good workout(if available) can help to clean out the poors, just make sure you scrub good afterwards. I wouldn't recommend the sauna each trip to the gym as it can also train your body to retain water, but it does seem to help out with the breakouts.

It also could be the soap you're using as, I think Menace is referring to. If you're using something at your gym bring your own or just change what you use at home and see if that doesn't alleviate the problem.

Good luck and fill out your profile for any future questions.

Thanks guys for your responses. I always take a shower at the end of my workout. I will try to bring my own soap to the gym to see if it helps.

Thank you.

not sure about that...maybe wearing cotton will improve situation but not the other way around...it helps absorb the moisture from the skin so I would think it can only help...

It's that nylon/spandex material you gotta look out for that doesn't let your skin breath...but if everyone at my gym stopped wearing those then who would I laugh at.

Actually, wearing cotton can make matters worse-sorry menace. The fibres are quite rough and although they absorb moisture well, they also hold the moisture against your skin. The best option is a blend of synthic fibres that are designed to wick away moisture such as "coolmax". You can buy t-shirts pretty cheap that are made with "coolmax"-it will be listed on the label. I'm sure there are other products, but I'm most familiar with this one. Walmart even carries brands with this. The same goes for socks. Cotton socks can cause blisters easier than synthetic socks. Again, you need to get ones with breathable fibres. The sox I wear for running even have teflon in them, which helps stops friction!
