Yep, you're missing aomthing adalos. I, the same as you ,am limited in space so my weihgts and cage are in my laundry room. Since it's my space I put the curl bar on my rack between sets and young wrestler [Steve} takes great exception to this. It also really torques his testicles to know that my wife also hangs cloths on my bar as she unloads the dryer. I enjoy tweaking the true believers.
Now to your outside weights...put a coat of rustoleum on them and go for it.

i can understand that, but why would you need to use a rack in a gym to do curls, where space isn't really an issue?

Hey now! It's Charlie's cage, and he can hang doilies and frilly things and whatever else he wants to from it! Now if some of you don't cut his some slack, there might be the odd voodoo doll hanging from the cage as well. LOL
Of course, if MY name were 'Charlie', I'd prefer to have a collection of angels, but that's another matter...

Thanks Mark, our freedoms are important. I also defend Mutt's right to wear frilly things when he visits his squat cage.
No time to chat now... the angels and I are in the midst of a pagan ceremony. Dam, you are an inciteful intelligent guy.

So I may be competiting on the highland games.
My training for this would involve lots of olympic lifting.
Olympic lifting is restricted to the power cage @ rit.
Therefore, I will spending at least 1 day a week with my entire workout in the power rack.

I ended up buying this half inch thick, interlocking rubber matt flooring and turning my guest bedroom into a weight room. I actually found this old timer weight lifter who was selling his squat rack, olympic bench, and about 500 pounds of weights for about 200 bucks. add the cost of the flooring, and the miscelaneous stuff i had to add, and i think i spent around 400 bucks for my home weight room.
