Just thinking today about how everything in weightlifting is connected. Like a car, if one mechanical thing is not right the whole car does not run well. So too in workingout. Think of it, what exercise works only one muscle group ( i know calves and abs are close, but I feel that they also touch other areas)? Take the bench press for example, most would say it is a chest exercise, yet we know that the tris shoulders and even back sometimes play into how well you bench. So what happens if you just do bench presses? You do nothing else, you do not develop any other mucsle group. I will tell you your chest whil strong and somewhat massive, would not grow as much as someone else that works the rest fo the body. Why, you ask? Well if the shoulders and tris were getting the same level of work, they in turn would hwlp you have a much heavier, more intense bench press work out. The circle of weightlifting just bcame complete. You can not have a complete routine without including all body parts, each is working in conjunction with the other to make a whole. Your overall growth will increase by completeing the circle. Good luck!
