On average I do about 1,000 crunches a day and to be honest have't eaten too healthy...but I'm starting a new diet today and going to try to stick with it.
My question is if 1,000 is too many to do? Like I spread it out over the day into 8 times of the day: 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:30 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:30 PM, 11:00 PM, 2:00 AM. Each set is like 125. 50 regular crunches...25 of each side and then finish off with 25 more regular crunches.
Is there any suggestions on this workout. I also am pretty good cardio. I try to jog a mile and do a lot of stair climbing as well.
Thanks in advance.

Hey... welcome to FT...
First, please fill out your profile so we can tell more about you.
Second, what are your goals? I'm guessing a flat tummy with a six pack, right?
Third, you can't spot reduce.
Also, 1000 is too many. There is no need for that many... you can get an effective ab workout with three, four or five sets of a variety of ab stuff.
Are you doing more than abs and cardio?

Sorry forgot about my profile. But my goal is basically to lose about 15 pounds by Christmas. But weight loss is not the main goal...I am trying to mainly just develop some muscle form. I played football for three years and never had any noticeable muscle on me and would like to change it. I already have basically a flat stomach...but just no 6-pack. According to my BMI I am slightly overweight but based on my body shape...I don't think thats extremely accurate.
I have started a new diet and working on eating healthier. I have a fitness program in place now too involving weights as well I plan on starting next week.

read some of the many ab posts on this topic. "is it true?" is a good thread, and it discusses the importance in utilizing resistance to get an effective ab workout.

Look at the top of the page, click on Home then look for Profile. Hit that and you should be able to figure it out from there.
