My old hand held body fat monitor put me at about 30%, which I was always very disappointed with, but I refused to blame the machine, as I didn't want to be making excuses.
I needed a new set of scales for my new flat, so I got ones with a body fat monitor and the difference is ridiculous - today I checked both methods -
body fat on hand held = 32.8%
body fat on scales - 16.8%
WTF????:surprised:

I totaly agree!! If I do the measuring route via different methods I get 27-31% BF. An impedence measurement puts me at 23%. So I totally believe in the impedence method:laugh:.
I've finally stopped weighing myself daily (had to hide the scale to accomplish that) and was hoping I could use the BF method.
Now I use my watch:). When it gets real loose, I know I making progress:big_smile:
Someone could make a ton of money if they could come up with a reliable method...hmmm I think I'll head into the lab......

They may not be an accurate measurement but they tend to be consistant....use them as a guide to see you fat loss trends.use it the same time of the day each time....best on a weekly basis
