Hi all...I've sort of asked this before, but I'm still not sure I have the right answer. I'm concerned about overtraining, although I seem to be getting through my workouts without much trouble.

I am currently doing basically a full body workout 3X/week. Here is a general breakdown of what I'm doing...

Mon.-using heavy weights lower reps
Squats (smith)
lunges (walking single leg)
DL
bench press (hammer strength or DB)
BO rows
back extentions

Wed. Circuit training
3sets in series, 15 reps- med. weight
Series 1
bench press
squats
leg raises for abs
lat pull down-wide
front raises-db
Series 2
lunges
lat raises-db
seated row
crunches
incline chest press

Friday (full body-med weight higher reps) I golf Fri. so I don't want to tire myself out!
repeat of Mon. but med weight higher reps.

I do cardio on Tues, Thurs and Sat.-primarily running

Rest Sunday.

Am I at risk of overtraining by doing the same compound exercises? Would I be better to do a split on Mon/Fri and do the circuit on Wed?

Any advice or comments are always appreciated!!

If you are a beginner, then this can be ideal. If however you are intermediate to advanced, it may well be overtraining(cosidering the stipulations below).

Much depends on how INTENSE you work out also. Doing this workout as an intense bodybuilder would approach his/her workout would almost assuredly be overtraining. But if you approach it differently, kind of talking and having fun while doing it, not taking everything to failure, then it is surely fine.

This is something you must judge. How is your recovery?

Thanks BB1, I guess I would now consider myself to be intermediate, I certainly am not "having fun and chatting" while working out. On the other hand, I'm not feeling "wiped" or suffering from too much DOMS, as I used to in the beginning, except maybe after my "heavy" workout on Mondays. Do you think I'd be better to go to a 2 day spit Mon/Fri and do the circuit on Wed.?
