losing weight isnt about eating crappy foods. check out the bodybuilders grocery list, and some of the recipes on this site.. great tasting foods that are very healthy. he might not even know the difference, but then WHAM! he's getting a much more nutritious diet without even knowing..

I would change yours - I know that requires making two meals but after awhile he may decide to try some of yours
I do make french fries for my family & microwave me a potatoe. Make out a list of what you are going to fix you & ask him if there is anything he would on the list -- say he will eat corn then you know to fix enough for him on the night you have corn. Make sure he know you will make him his things but he has to understand that you aren't going to eat them. I know several guys that think when you say diet then all you are going to fix is salad - well let him see that isn't all you are going to fix -------------- Reddy All people smile in the same language |

Get some good healthy cookbooks and experiment...There are a lot of great healthy and tasty recipes out there...Cook with healthy oils...bake/broil/grill/boil instead of fry....Many unhealthy meals can be made healthy by just a few substitutions...Try Volumetrics...there are a couple great cookbooks out there on it (idea behind it is eating a larger volume of food with less calories ex: instead of a 1/2c whole fat ice cream you can have a whole cup of fresh berries with 1/4c nonfat yogurt cheese mixed with a tsp honey and a tbsp of lowfat granola on top)
or If he wants to eat garbage let him...but let him make his own food then...or else he eats what you make...I know when my hubby was having problems sticking with his plan and asked for junk I told him that he could eat what ever he wanted but he had to make it himself...That way I wasn't responsible for any failures he made. PAT ps don't make it a battleground...experiment with tasty things you know he will like and do it for yourself. |

Let him cook for himself if he wants to make a conscious decision to eat poorly. >>>evil laugh<<< "Muah ha ha ha ha ha ha" I don't mean to be cruel but if you're making the effort to improve your health you need to be able to maintain it. Cook for you and your niece and make sure there's enough for your man if he's interested. If not you can freeze the leftovers in regular portions for yourself. I guess it's sort of like a kid who won't eat his veggies - they're not going to let themselves starve. He'll eat when he's hungry! Please take me with a grain of salt! Just having fun. I understand your frustration, but good for you for making healthier decisions. E. |

I do all of my cooking with olive oil or pam spray and then I don't use much of either. My husband, kids and I all eat the same food. I just end up with more vegies : ) I cook all the meat the same way so that they don't even realize something is different
No one complains, I also use a smaller plate than the rest of them so it appears that I have a lot on my plate. This helps me to keep my portion sizes in control. It is hard when you are the only one trying to get healthy but it can be done. Just do it. As others have said eating healthy does not mean your food has to taste bad, there are tons of really great recipes out there. Good luck Leslie |
