I started my weight loss journey in January and I have gone from 140 to 125. I have been stuck at 125 however since the beginning of march. I did not understand this because I have been zig-zagging my calories and boosted the intensity of my workouts. However today I found out I was pregnant and am probably 2 months or so. Wlould this be a reason why? I can't have this baby because I have taken way too many x-rays, among other reasons. I want to do the best thing for my body right now even though I am not having this baby. I am 5'2, 125lbs, currently weight train 3X times a week, have physical therapy 2X a week, and do cardio 4X a week. I eat 1500 cals a day, eating 1800 every 4th day. I don't know how to adjust this. My goal is still to lose weight but I don't want to anything that might jeopardize my body. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do while still gettingoptimal results? Thanks a bunch.

your body will try to stay where it is - best thing is to get rid of the baby ASAP then get back on track. I'm sorry you can't keep it. You should talk to your doctor about getting your tubes tied so you won't have to deal with this again.

I'm only 22 and will want kids someday.I just came out of a bad car accident and am not rehabilitated. This was so unfair, it wasn't like I wasn't safe and I only had sex once in the past 10 months or so. What can I expect after getting rid of the baby? It has only been tops 2 months. Will my weight decrease a few lbs or am I starting from this point still. Thanks

Also how will this affect my nutritional needs at this stage. I currently am on a 40-40-20 plan, (40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fats) I make sure to get atleast 5 meals a day averaging about 300 cals a meal. I don't want to gain any weight obviously but Idon't know my nutritional needs atm, when I am not planning on keeping it. Once again thanks a bunch.

RNC - just one if she was pregant at the time - I'm not sure how many if you aren't or how long it can effect you.

SCP - you will need to check with a doctor - I didn't keep up with it even when I was - but if you are getting rid of it - you need to do it before 3 months/12 weeks - that is better on your body than waiting until later & if you get past so far they won't do it (in some areas)

rnc- I have gone in for x-rays twice since Ihave becomepregnant. Each time many were taken. Itisnot that Iam faced with maybe losing a baby. I cannot have the baby and be pregnantat this time. It hasn't been 4 months since I gotout of a wheelchair and really am trying to fix my body and walk right again. I know this may seem shallow to you butthis is a place to get advice on your body and that was what I need right now. Though I do want to continue to lose weight afterthe baby is gone that is NOT my main concern. My main concern is staying to healthy and doing what is best for me atm.

reddy- I am planning on doing it next week or the week after, whenever they have an opening. I really was wondering if anyone knew what I could expect after that and until what my nutritional needs are. I would not think it would be much different since I am not planning on keeping it. Still I just wanted to be sure and I couldn't find anything on the net.

You are still in the first trimester of your pregnancy so really, there isn't much to expect after the procedure. I think they may put you on birth control for the next month or so, to sort out our cycle. There may be some discomfort but not much more than menstrual cramping. You should pretty much be able to continue as usual within the week after your procedure, taking it slow physically for the first little bit. The procedure is such that there aren't any sutures... This will not affect your chances of having children in the future.

Take care

This is just for info - it depends very much which part of your body was x-rayed, as to whether the baby would be at risk. An x-ray of the lower back takes a lot of radiation, and is near the baby and would cause a lot more damage than, for example a wrist x-ray which would only be minimally risky.

The amount of weight gain in the first trimester of pregnancy is minimal, so one would assume that the weight loss after termination would be minimal too.

It is obviously a very difficult situation for any woman to face and you should try to talk it through as much as possible - do you have a close friend you can talk to about it?

I had to x-ray my wholeleft leg up to my hip. I know I must have ndone some damage. It is a hard thing to go through and I thank god my sister lives so close. Do you think being pregnant slowed my metabolism? I have absolutely no idea..

scp - you should be asking your doctor about the risks to the embryo due to the X-ray. I understand your prediciment. More power to you for standing behind your decision. I also have a friend who redcently teminated a pregnancy. Whe was 9 weeks and noticed no weight gain or loss after the procedure. She also said she was a little emotional as it was like 2 menstral cycles in one. But she noticed no lasting effects.
My thoughts and wishes are with you as you proceed through your recovery from the accident.

Stay strong.

E.

Thanks so much for the support :) I went ahead and got it done about 3 days ago and I already lost 3lbs. I think everyone is different and I'm sure each pregnancy is different aswell. My stomach went from a 26" waist to a 24" within the first day. I was pleasantly surprised about that :)

Ok I got on the scale this morning and it says I lost another 3lbs. that seems a bit much in such a short time but I suppose it was mostly water weight. Unofrtunately since this I haven't been able to eat right. I still try for my 5 meals a day but after the second or third bite I get sick and have to push it away. I know I'm not getting enough calories and am petrified of going into starvation mode. I will build my calories back up slowly so I don't gain too much weight but in the meantime how badly will this affect me?

gdl, go to fitbuddy and do a search on weighloss. You can not spot reduce so that just your belly gets slimmer, but with a healthy diet, and a mixture of cardio and weight training, you should see results. Good luck.

Hi I am an experienced dieter, but new to this website, (and getting results)I am only 21 and my son is about 15 months old it is time to stop making excusesand get into shape. With fat burners, good nutrition, and moderate cardio, I have managed to go from 155 to 130. Now I'm stuck. A fitness plan was developed for me on this website but it doesn't mention any cardio. Isn't cardio essential for weight loss. If so can anyone recomend a good daily amount of time to spend doing it. Thank you

Abortion is evil. You could've jumped right back into weightloss and fitness after and during the pregnancy. Murderer. And if you're in a relationship with someone who is supportive, how is it that you only have sex once a year?
