The most awesome thing happened yesterday, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror while changing and had to do a double take rather than my usual avoidance of myself. I actually can see muscle, I mean I moved and muscles flexed and unflexed! It wasn't just a minor change, it is a major one giving me added hope that I can do this!
One of my "goals" was to NOT view myself in the mirror, to avoid at all costs seeing myself other than to apply touches of makeup now and then as I was tired of being too critical on myself and if after working out for a month, I didn't see some changes - one less dimple, a shaving of the calves, a little less jiggle in the arms - I would get so discouraged. So, I tried a different approach and have refused to acknowledge "myself" and in my case, it seemed to have worked, lol! Though I did find myself immediately becoming critical and wishing I was seeing more faster, I had to correct myself and be grateful for those changes I was seeing and those that you can't see (breathing, energy, etc.).
I am thrilled with seeing those chest muscles, those little dents below the collar bone which I cannot for the life of me remember what they are, my legs are looking like LEGS not so much like tree trunks!! I actually have a carving of calf muscles!! I am seeing the nice muscle line that runs from the ankle to the knee and then to the rear! My arms are more defined at the top and I have this really cool definition on my forearm that used to be just a forearm!
I have noticed when my boxing slowed that my waist isn't making as much progress and I NEED it there, so I am going to try to up that again as I think it was very beneficial.
I just had to share and I am going to go another month without "viewing" and see what happens as I am so darn critical of myself and that leads to frustration and often failure, so I'm going to THINK healthy, DO healthy and hope that I get even more results in another month!!
Thanks for listening to my progress!

Oh, before the comments come rushing in, lol, I know that there isn't such a thing as spot training, with the boxing I used a lot of calories and the muscles were stronger it seemed is what I was getting at.

That's excellent! I know what you mean about avoiding the mirror. I'm happy for your progress. Cool new pic, btw.
-------------- I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts. It wasn't my fault!! I swear to God!!

Oh, and this is why i recommend my clients take photos every few weeks - when you see yourself every day you don't register the changes, but compare photos from a few weeks previous and you will see change!
