I watched, for the first time, that show where the celebrities are trying to get fit and lose weight. My son and I watched and it was somewhat interesting. I guess it made me realize that they all aren't wearing a size zero and that health is the one thing they truly cannot buy. With my low budget for food and the cheating I have done throughout the years, I can only image what they must go through as far as all that good expensive junk food, desserts, etc. they have at their fingertips - the only difference is, there is such awesome-ly healthy food out there at those fancy restaurants, etc. you would think they would make some good choices?? I think I would be happy with all that healthy food within my reach!! :)-------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. If I had that kind of money I would have a personal trainer at my house in my gym and a personal chef to monitor me and what I eat. I guess that would be a babysitter.

There was a recent story on "The Onion" with the headline "Oprah Celebrates 20,000th Pound Lost!" It was pretty darn funny. Even with chefs and trainers and all that it is still tough. Granted, it may be easier in some ways but still it's tough.

While I'd like to think if I had money to burn and was famous, I too would have a personal chef, trainer the whole nine yards... but, who am I kidding? I'm sure I would still have a lifestyle debauchery and the high life....

That is wonderful - 90% of his wealth to charity, that is something I would like to accomplish if I were as wealthy as many are!

I have a question, hopefully one of our great ones can answer (WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CHARLIE????): When watching this show, the judges gave the "Judge" a hard time for increasing her weights when lifting?? She didn't accomplish her weight loss goal, but very obviously gained muscle, that was very apparent and the judges commented on it even, but then told her she was NOT NOT NOT to increase her weight, I was confused at their attitude as she obviously was gaining muscle, therefore going to burn more, but I suppose based on the show the idea was to lose as many calories as fast as possible to be competitive as a team. Whatcha all think about this??

there is an other show called body hits or some think like that where they take "wanna be" bodybuilders and train them for 8 weeks and some of the results are amazing.

I'm tired out of reality shows and don't normally watch them, and this one we just fumbled across changing channels, but I think some of these fitness ones can help some people relate to the struggles, though unfortunately there is so much hype and gimmicks to them from what the commercials seem to show. I didn't watch the "Biggest Loser" or whatever it was, but I read the results in a magazine of the contestants and it was great to see them achieve their goals. I guess for some they have to stand nearly naked in front of the cameras before it hits them of the seriousness of their obesity, something like me having to place my horrid picture here so I could have it staring me in the face everytime I posted, no hiding, no pretending, just me and my rolls! :)-------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. I can only think that if she is new to weight lifting, they want her to make sure her form is perfect before increasing the weight lifted. Either that or they are talking bollocks. -------------- herd mentality. |
