I am doing a close grip pull down exercise (I think) which uses a cable and wieghts--4X12reps, 40/45/50/55lbs. I do them by standing, with my arms straight(slight bend, palms down) and parallel to my shoulder and pull down until my hands reach my thighs.
I can't find what this is called or what muscles I am working (chest?). I think my trainer gave me a modified exercise because of a shoulder injury I have.
It's been a week since he showed me and I just want to make sure I'm doing it right and to know exactly what I'm working. I'm finished with the trainer and am on my own now- he wasn't around to ask today when I was doing my upper workout.
Thanks

Yeah that is what it sounds like to me. This is an excellent exercise to add mass to the triceps.

Ah, straight-arm cable pushdowns, now that sounds right and it makes sence to me that it works the back. Thanks for the feedback.
An embarassing add on, I got bonked on the head by the bar when I was changing the wieght...got a big goose egg on my head now! Oh well, I'm sure it was rather entertaining for the guys to see!!
