I read a while back about bb1 and "loading up" on glutamine & BCAA's in the morning on an empty stomach, doing cardio for an hour, then waiting an hour to eat, because this forces the body to burn fat. Is there truth to this tale?

Also, does "loading up" mean taking more than the recommended serving size

jussy, i highly doubt that ron would tell someone to do cardio on an empty stomach. it will burn just as much lean tissue as it will fat. i would find the post you're talking about and re-read it to make sure you understood correctly. and please, just post your question in one forum. we read them all.

What you probably read was a post that referred to "extreme" times of dieting, when you have a deadline like contest training to make. The contest will not wait on you, and if you mistimed your diet, then the "extreme" methods must be used. A load of BCAA's and glutamine may help "fool" the body into more fat burning, as it will see the flood of amino acids in the bloodstream and think, uh oh, already breaking down lean tissue, better resort to fatty acids. BCAA's unlike EAA's are metabolized directly in the muscle, not the liver, so they are readily utilized. I would not do this except under extreme circumstances as mentioned.
