Well yesterday was D day of a sorts for us here. My wife and I stated the South beach diet per doc orders. She was not happy at all LOL. All the stuff she normally eats had to be cut out. She has a huge texture and taste gag reflex. She does not eat that many veges at all which hurts her a lot on this diet. Hopefully the 2 weeks this strict(we can allow more carbs in after 2 weeks) will go fast.-------------- If you can itch your nose after arm day...do another set! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

Well today marks the 5th day And I can say that I love this diet! It is hard do not get me wrong. My wife the picky eater is doing it at a modified way. She is finally getting over the cravings. It seems that I have lost a inch already from my waist but that is not sure as of yet.-------------- If you can itch your nose after arm day...do another set! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

Well half way thru the 2nd week. While my workouts have suffered a little my overall energy is up. I feel less sluggish overall. I do have to say that my anger level is shorter i mean I am cranky for sure lol.-------------- If you can itch your nose after arm day...do another set! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

This is good news Mutt! Well, not that your fuse has gotten shorter...but that you are starting to feel better and like you are loosing weight.
Does the book say anything about changing the specifics when doing a weight training program? Like maybe you could / should add in a few more good carbs before you workouts? Anyway, congratualtions to you and Madamn Mutt! -------------- Julienne A morning without coffee is like something without something else. |

Thanks! For the first two weeks the carbs were only fron salad like materials....you can eat as much as you want but no other type of carbs...this week I am going to have 1 cup of oatmeal 1/2 hour before my workouts.-------------- If you can itch your nose after arm day...do another set! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

I have been doing SB since August 9, 2004 and lost 31 lbs. so far. I noticed when I added in carbs the weight loss slowed down alot, but I started working out harder and found this site that taught me about building muscle. Of course over xmas I didn't lose anything because of all the goodies I consumed. But I just stuck it out and kept going back to SB and with the weight training and cardio I kickstarted losing again. Another good carb is sweet potatoes or brown rice. I have that for dinner now because I do my workouts after dinner. I have three kids and a full time job and I don't do mornings. I was very much out of shape and have now gone from 5-10 minutes of cardio to 25 and I am going to increase the weights on my arms soon. I will be 40 (yuck) in June and hope to be down another 30 by then. I will not be at goal weight but I am certainly alot healthier than I was last summer. Good Luck on South Beach! It has to be a way of life not a diet.

Well the 3rd week is almost over. I did cheat (mainly caue my wifes aunt flo is visiting every 3 weeks or so yuck), so she ate bad as a result I cheated one day nicely..lol it is working my clothes fit looser but I have yet to see any weight loss. I am looking thinner and my arms and legs are getting defined. So I will keep at it for now.-------------- If you can itch your nose after arm day...do another set! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |
