Hi I'm pretty new to this website and I have a question. I'm sorry if it's inapropriate in this forums but I keep getting different answers for this question. I'm an occasional weed smoker and I heard that smoking weed after a workout cannot do any damage to you or your workout. Few of the biggest people in my school smoke weed after every workout and they tell me it's not bad might be even good for you, the relaxation... I heard some negative answers to so I'm asking you guys...

To be perfectly honest I have smoked for years and I have a belly due to the fact I was just lazy. I am my most active after I smoke. I know Im gonna get cut down for my comment, but oh well. Weed has diffrent effects on everyone so there is no right or wrong answer. The only definite answer is if ur lifting to take the proper precautions to insure you dont get hurt. I have decided to change some thins in my life, but everyone has there way they let go of their tension and mine happens to be marijuana. But to each his own. It can be compared to any other vice a person could have. And for the people who give marijuana a bad rap MAKE ALCOHOL ILLEGAL ITS A DRUG ALSO. There are more deaths related to alcohol related incidences than weed!:surprised:

Marijuana, like any other compulsive habbit, can and will have adverse effects at some point.

People often overlook things like overeating as an "unhealthy" lifestyle because it's not illegal. The simple fact of the matter is, if you took all of the deaths associated with illegal drugs as well as alcohol and added them together, they would be no where near the amount of deatch associated with heart disease from being obese.

So, to go through the trouble to change your diet, your lifting regime, running... etc etc etc and then pick up a doobie and burn one.... that's about as counterproductive as you can get.

Studies also show that Marijuana can decrease the amount of testosterone a male produces... even to the point at which a young man could delay his puberty by up to 2 years.... (If your bodybuilding, you need all the testosterone you can get naturally)

I dont like to preach, but like anything.... its not what we do occasionaly that matters, but what we do CONSISTANTLY!!!

I personally prefer a case of beer after training, and especially before I drive my car anywhere. Soemtimes I will do a couple hits of acid too. Never drive or workout without it.:big_smile:

My vice is unprotected sex with drug addicts. Always gets me going after a workout.

I use bales of pot in giant baggies tied to the end of my barbells. Saves money on plates. Also it makes a great additive to shakes to increase fiber. We boat alot but never allow pot on the boat. That zero tolerance thing is a bitch.
