Usually I just see this on TV but at the gym today, a gentlemen about 5'8-170lbs squatted 315, (143k). Wow did the bar ever bend.

I don't know where you work out Carivan, but I have seen numerous folks squat that...3 plates on each side.

I work out at a gym with moderate builders. Never usually anyone squatting over 2 plates!

We had a guy in High School like that. He was the lead drummer in the Marching Band also. Dude was huge and had the Fabio hair going on. Squats, presses, he was a god! LOL

I heard he went on to be a Kindergarten teacher. (Insert mental image of Arnold in Kindergarten Cop here.)

LOL jonathan. I don't know why this popped up in my head, but I suddenly had this mental image of charlie with long blonde locks lifting a bar with a buffalo on each side.

:surprised:

sometimes...I scare myself.

I use the non-olympic bar and when I squat with 400 lbs it is as bent as Kerry's and Bush's perceptions of their respective military careers.

cupcake and prictchard, I don't workout with the buffalo. I only dance wit them and share their water trough.

Yea I seen a guy do 6 plays on each side, however he was bigger than I am lol, he was about 300.

Thats pretty good though almost 2x his body weight, for reps

Hey Carivan! I'm curious what kind of gym you have a membership too? I see freaks at my gym hit that all the time with a couple guys that I seen hit 12 plates total; the bar had a nice little bend with the plates making music clanging together lol. Also, how many reps did he do with that weight?

This one time, at band camp. . . LMAO!!!
It's story time! Ok. This one time I saw this guy doing squats, and he had lost a leg to infection. He was doing one-legged squats. I was impressed.

Next? LOL
