Without going into much detail, I went to the Dr. for a certain problem I had been experiencing for the past two days, he told me it was probably due to not keeping myself properly hydrated. I had been slacking in the water drinking that past few weeks (I got tired of peeing all the time) but now I am extra motivated. Please remeber people - drink drink drink! We did some camping on the weekend.. we took two five gallon jugs of water... between drinking it, washing plates and such with it, it wasn't quite enough for our group which grew over the weekend...
Got home and I drank about a litre and a half in one sitting... looked at my wife and said "I missed this the most." Like fsdsk says, drink your water! After all, peeing isn't that bad... t -------------- Tim I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over self. - Aristotle You have the power to change a life right in your own hands. - Paul Brandt |

Peeing isn't bad unless you've recently been diagnosed with IC, Interstitial Cystitis like myself. For the past 3 days, I've been to the OB to have bladder instillations done to help repair the indentations in my bladder wall that allow acids in certain foods to create a burning sensation and frequency to pee. I'm also taking 2 capsules twice a day of Elmiron to help improve and rid this horrible condition.
While I was there I asked him about HORENDOUS bloating that I sometimes suffer. I was also diagnosed with IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, in June. For some reason, these two conditions like to occur together. Lucky me. :( I hope your condition is better now, fsdsk!! I typed this out because I'm hoping it will help me get past this depressed feeling of FLUCTUATING so much in my abdomen and waist measurements. :( |

I agree, peeing isn't bad. I do spend about 75% of my work day behind a desk - people start to wonder why I'm heading to the restroom every half hour:big_smile:

I feel ya phimugirl1, several year ago I had cyctitis and it was really hard to get rid of. I think I took antibiotic prophrolatically for like six months straight. Did they give you any Peridium (sp?) The stuff that makes you pee really orange? That helped as far as the burning sensation for me. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thank you Dfly!
He gave me a huge sample of Prosed EC to use that I think he said will turn my pee blue. I've not tried it yet. He also gave me a sample of Prelief to take before I eat a food that will cause a flare up. Did you follow the suggested food plan when you were trying to cope with this wicked condition? He told me today that I really need to look it over and start making some changes. The list of Dont's are practically the things I do eat. The list of Do's are things that I don't particularly care for. Unfortunately, I don't have much of a choice if I want to speed this process up. He started me on Elmiron last Thursday. Then, on Monday I started getting bladder instillations to help speed up the repairs to the bladder wall. I did this 3 days in a row. Today's was the MOST painful. I thought I'd be happy to pee after the allotted time frame of trying not to use the bathroom for better effects, 2-4 hours is what he recommended to wait. Well, since it HURT like he-- when he inserted the catheter today when I did use the bathroom it burned terribly. I guess it was because of the terrible pinch and probe that I felt when he placed it today, but I sure hope Monday's goes better. I have to do this once a week for the next 6 weeks. He said that it sometimes takes 3 months before any relief is felt. I've been dealing with this condition since after the birth of our 4 year old son, but my other OB never could figure out what the problem was. I am so grateful that my family dr. referred me to this new OB. He is so much more informed. The minute I told him my symptoms he said that his wife had suffered the same thing, but was now cured from taking the meds and having the treatments. Congrats on being symptom free now!!! :) I can't wait to be able to say the same thing! |

Between having to go to the bathroom at every store we stop at and getting up from my desk when I work, as someone else mentioned, every half hour - I don't know which is worse. My kids get tired of me dragging them to stand in front of restrooms before and sometimes after I shop, not to mention I loathe public restrooms. I know the water is necessary, but if we need it to stay hydrated properly why in the world doesn't more of it stay within instead of out! -------------- Veda MISERY IS OPTIONAL ***When you are up to your ears in trouble, try using the part that is not submerged. ***The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan.
