I have had this problem since high school. Every time that I do sit-ups or any type of crunches I get real bad cramps throughout my stomach. I was wondering if there is any way to stop this from continuing?

Do you stretch enough before you begin your ab workout? Extend your arms above your head and reach for the sky while arching your back and hold it for 15 seconds; do this about 4 times before your workout. That should help stretch a bit.

Also, are you eating before a workout? That can cause cramping. Or you may just need to take it easy on abs. Do a set until you start to feel like cramping may begin. Rest for a minute or two, stretch, and try again. Wish I knew more about this topic, for my own sake. I hate muscle cramps.

It's hard to say if I drink enough water. I do drink alot of water, but it might not be enough. In any other body part I'm o.k., but only in my abs do I get cramps. That's why I'm trying to find something that works.

Easy enough to know. Go to the toilet, if your peeeee is all yellow, you don't drink enough. Also if you're thirsty it's too late. You always have to drink before you get thirsty. Cheers!
