azredhead57 Posts: 1,651 Joined: 2003/04/11	2004/06/29, 01:48 PM Anyone else tried this? I went yesterday and got one. (They were calling me whitey at the gym :laugh:) The smell of it is really bothering me. She told me not to shower for 4-6 hours, so I didn't. When I showered I used some soap, but didnt scrub since I didnt want it to all come off, but my skin still didn't smell clean. I even put on scented lotion but within an hour the tan smell was back. I was pleased with the look and was considering maintaining it, but if this smell doesnt go away I don't think I could stand it. david_s81 Posts: 543 Joined: 2004/04/09	2004/06/29, 10:16 PM I used it and it stained a good stafford shirt! I was bent, so I stopped using it. Now I fake tan at a place. Pretty cheap, and it seems to work good so far. Can't wait to look like a hot dog at 7-11. :big_smile: -------------- A broken clock is right twice a day

My ex-business partner switched from fake&bake to spray on and really looked good, I couldn't tell the difference, and I never smelled her.. azredhead57 Posts: 1,651 Joined: 2003/04/11	2004/06/30, 12:43 PM Either the smell is fading or I'm getting used to it. It wasn't really a stink, just not a clean smell. Kinda like you would smell after working outside for a while, a mixed dirt/sweat smell. Hard to explain, and I have a really sensitive nose. No one around me has noticed it. Since it was my first time I learned a couple things. She had me put a layer of lotion on my hands and feet and I didn't use enough on my feet, especially on the heels and sides so next time I will use more. I washed my hands really well right after so didnt have any problems there. She had also told me to stand with my legs apart and evidently I didnt cuz I have a nice white strip down the inside of my thighs. Next time I think I will kind of use a sumo stance I guess. The look of it is very nice. A good color and no streaks. Nice tan lines. She said it lasts 7-10 days. I am going to do it again next week and see if I do better, so yes I would recommend it especially since we all know how dangerous a real tan can be. I imagine it could stain your clothes immediately after since you do put your own clothes right back on. azredhead57 Posts: 1,651 Joined: 2003/04/11	2004/07/02, 05:24 PM This one was a very private booth inside a private room. She actually told me I didnt have to wear anything if I didnt want to. I called first cuz I too am not comfortable enough yet to be seen in public in a bathing suit. She put me first in a small room to change clothes and gave me a robe to put on from there. Then she walked me to another room where the towels, lotion, babywipes etc were and the booth was inside this room. She gave me the rundown and then left and closed the door, so I was on my own. I went in the middle of the day on a Monday and there was no one else there at the time, but if there had been I would still have felt comfortable. I was worried that the color would be too orange or some other awful color, but it looked very natural.
