I don't mean to offend anyone, but today for the first time, I looked on the boards, saw several questions that had been answered before lots of times and thought I really can't be a**ed answering this.
I think it's different if someone is looking for support - you can't get that from fitbuddy, but simple questions of fact..... Anyway, sorry to be grumpy . I too have been guilty of this as a newb, just wanted to say sorry to the mods for my past trangressions and ask the newbs PLEASE USE FITBUDDY! |

Yes , princess, many people want information without any effort and it can be very frustrating. But i also think many do not understand that fitbuddy is a search engine for previous posts.-------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. |

umm, princess.. I drink a gallon of soda a day, gas prices are too high and my legwarmers don't match my outfit. The trainer at my gym said I should do bicycle crunches in the studio if I want a six-pack, and that I would get better results if I wear a short skirt.
Should I also wear the short skirt when I do my two hours of cardio before lifting weights? -------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. |

As long as you remember to fast for 3 days before doing your cardio, and for 10 hours afterwards

All,
As a fellow newbie and trying to defend all other newbies but without upsetting you pros (as I will need a lot of help in the future). It is some times hard to find information you need when one does not know what one is talking about. Also if you are new to the site, finding out what all the options do i.e. fitbuddy may take some time. So yes the newbies should have a look around the site and use fitbuddy (as I did) before posting a question but some people may not have the time, or money and a post may be their only option. Please give us some time and we may catch up to you guys one day and you never know you might ask us some questions ;) Cheers, Toad |

While i'm here can i ask you a question. I'm just getting back in to things after a few months break (as you may now know i.e newbie). Did a good weights setion on Monday and I not only got the next day soreness but it is so bad that i could not go to the gym today. Cannot straighten my arm properly after working on my biceps. Should i ever get to this stage ? or is it i pushed to hard to soon? please tell me to sod and search fitbuddy if you like, just though i'd ask while im here. |

Well it is normal to have some soreness and after a long time off it can be very bad. I would try to go lift LIGHTLY!!!!! and not for arms.....this will actually help you. it may also be that you went to fast to soon. But if it still so bad you can not use your arms after a 5 day period a doc trip may be in order. Hi toad, soreness is normal. You want to learn the difference in soreness and injury. If it'd soreness, you can 1 strech 2 try to work another muscle group 3 soak in hot water 4 try some advol or whatever your preference is 5 try light cardio Getting moving again WILL help. Our Princess was venting and as I suspected ,slept on an oversized pea. She is really fun in a regal way. Newbie questions are always welcome.Newbies who make no effort to get to know the sight can be annoying. You are not annoying. Have you seen the challange in the general fitness board? it must just be soreness. I had a nice soak in a hot bath this morning and it easied up a treat. Its just starting to stiffen up again this afternoon. I think i will go and have my legs workout anyway then.Thanx..
I will use fitbuddy(lol) to check out the challage. |

Ha! Chiken wings - a sure sign of overdoing the biceps curls. I was lifting with a bunch of muscle guys one day and really trying to keep up with them on the weight - couldn't unbend my arms for a week - looked like a flipping little gopher.
Sounds like it is already getting better. Next time it won't be as bad! -------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. |

Toad, I feel terrible now! - sorry :(
I too have tried to get answers from fitbuddy and got nowhere, so then asked....I usually find prefixing a post with "I tried fitbuddy, but couldn't get the answer" helps. I think my real point was that for a long time I unquestioningly answered posts and I couldn't work out why the mods got annoyed at times. My "new phase" was the realisation that it could get wearing after a while and so I wanted to apologise for the times I maybe could have spent longer searching on fitbuddy. I don't think it is ever really a problem because the times when one person can't be bothered other people can and vice versa. Feel free to imagine my face on the leg press when you do your leg workout :) |
